Bastar District is a district of Chhattisgarh state, which is the district headquarters Jagdalpur. The district has an area of 8755.79 sq. km. Bastar district on the northwestern district of Rajnandgaon, Kanker district, Dhamtari district, in the north-eastern state of Orissa Koraput district, Dantewada district on the south-west, and west is surrounded by Maharashtra Gadchiroli district.
छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य का एक जिला बस्तर जिला है,जिसका जिला मुख्यालय जगदलपुर है। जिले का क्षेत्रफल 8755.79 वर्ग किमी का है। बस्तर जिला के पश्चिमोत्तर पर जिला राजनांदगांव, कांकेर जिला, धमतरी जिला और पूर्वोत्तर में उड़ीसा राज्य के कोरापुट जिले, दक्षिण पश्चिम पर दंतेवाड़ा जिला, और पश्चिम में महाराष्ट्र राज्य के गढ़चिरौली जिले से घिरा हुआ है।
Here some areas Dhokra Handicraft are the most widely practiced. Dhokra art techniques drawn from the set of artifacts dung, paddy husk and red clay, is the most important. Dhokra and Bell metal handicrafts can be found all over the world. Shilpaguru Jaidev Baghel and Sushil Skhuja Bastar is famous sculptor they are awarded the Bastar art state. Chhattisgarh Ghadwa community, especially the area is known for.
