Surajpur is a city and a Nagar Palika in Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh state in central India.
It is the Administrative Head Quarter of the Surajpur District, located 256 km North from the State Capital Raipur. National Highway 43 has its route through Surajpur. Surajpur was declared District on 15 August 2011 buy the State Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh along with 8 (Eight) other new district.
