Kerlapal Area Committee ten active Naxals has surrendered before Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Second Battalion headquarters Commandant V V N Prasanna and Sukma Police Superintendent of Police D Shrawan. Two surrendered had also submitted one loaded rifle and a country made pistol.
Earlier, on August 25, five naxals had surrendered before CRPF. It is one of the biggest numbers of surrender before CRPF.
In a statement issued by CRPF Second Battalion Commandant V. V N Prasanna, all the members are Kerlapal are committee sangham members. Surrendered Naxals stated that the aims and policy for which they had joined the movement for achieving the target in present situation would not be obtained with adding pressure from the security forces in the area.
They said that local people join the Naxal movement due to fear of Naxalites and those who do not cooperate are physically tortured. In almost higher cadre is Naxal from Andhra Pradesh. They adopt double standard for the local cadre and it was thus finally decided to return back to mainstream.
Those surrendered are Madkam Singha (Kerlapal LOS member) Punat Sanna, Avdhesh Kumar, Sodhi Masa, Sodhi Budhra, Mukesh Madkam, Hidma Nanda, Amla Bheema and Madkam Deva. Madkham Singha and Punam Sanna had handed over country made rifle.
