Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today launched the Mobile Application and Digital Archive (Photo and Video footage) of the Public Relations Department to make the State Government more convenient to reach to the masses. The State has gone in a high-tech mode in Chhattisgarh. Dr.Singh congratulated the Public Relations Department for making Chhattisgarh the first State in the country to have its own Mobile Application.
Dr Raman Singh said it will bring transparency in the administration and the role of modern technology is of vital importance to convey the public welfare policies to the masses. The Public Relations Department in technical co-operation with the Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) has prepared the Application and Digital Archive. The interested citizens can update their knowledge regarding the development activities, photos, video-footage,on their Android mobile phones with the push of button.
Raman Singh said citizens living in far-flung regions also can make full use of the Application. After radio, telephone and television, the advent of Internet and mobile phone has made the world much smaller. The Chhattisgarh State has made spectacular progress in Information Technology sector in the past 11 years. The State has bagged many awards at the national-level. He praised CHiPS for bagging National Award for the year 2014-2015 and it will be presented during the e-Governance Conference at Gandhi Nagar on 30 January. The Chief Minister said it is a very big achievement for the entire state. He congratulated the Information Technology Department and CHiPS for this award. The authorities are utilising the facility for the welfare of the masses.
Dr Singh said the computerisation of Public Distribution System (PDS) has helped in transparency of the entire process. Entire country appreciated the efficient way of functioning of the PDS system. He said all the district head-quarters and the Development blocks’ head-quarters are inter-linked to the State capital via video-conference facilities. The launch of Public Relations Department Application is another milestone in the entire Information Technology process.
Public Relations Department Principal Secretary Amitabh Jain welcomed the gathering. He gave a detailed description of the way the welfare schemes of the State is being conveyed to citizens. He added that the mobile App and Digital Archive are a boon to the media also. Information Technology and Energy Department Principal Secretary Aman Kumar Singh said the people will know of the activities of the State Government via the App. He congratulated the Public Relations Department and CHiPS for it.
Director of Public Relations Rajat Kumar gave a brief description of the mobile App and Digital Archive. He said people can update the knowledge of State Government development programmes, policies, Cabinet decisions and other decisions instantly on their mobiles. Chhattisgarh is the first State to launch Public Relations Department mobile App. It was created with the co-operation of CHiPS. Any Android mobile user can download the Chhattisgarh D.P.R. site at Google App store, free of cost. There is a provision for notification also. The moment any news is uploaded on the Public Relations Department website, the mobile App will inform the user. The Public Relations website has been made mobile - friendly. The Digital Archive will display all the photographs and video- footage since 2004 of the important Government programmes. Separate software is used for the purpose. The domain I.D. is (www.digital.dpreg.gov.in).
Additional Principal Secretary Ajay Singh, Revenue and Industry Department Secretary Subodh Kumar Singh, Raipur Divisional Commissioner Dr BL Tiwari, Raipur Collector Ramsingh Thakur and CHiPS Chief Executive Officer Shourabh Kumar and other senior officers and media personnel were present at the function.
