The state government has started review of all the laws, acts and rules presently prevalent in Chhattisgarh, so that necessary preparations can be ensured to write-off all the obsolete and irrelevant laws, acts by identifying them. In this regard a meeting of the Chhattisgarh State Law Commission (CSLC) was held under the chairmanship of Chairman CSLC Justice LC Bhadu in new state secretariat here on Tuesday. The meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand and other officers from concerned departments.
Bhadu in the meeting said the Commission has sent information about concerned laws, acts and rules to different departments of the state government. He has asked the secretaries to take proposals from the head of the departments and identify such laws and acts which have become irrelevant and obsolete. This list should be sent to the Commission, Law department and to the Chief Secretary within 15 days and departmental secretary have been given instructions in this regard. Bhadu said that for this each department should appoint a nodal officer. Bhadu on this occasion took information department-wise about the acts, laws and rules prevalent and said that in the list of rules or acts sent to the Commission by different departments, if any one of them is missing, then it should also be included and the list of acts, laws and rules which needs to be deleted should be separately prepared. Bhadu laid emphasis on making amendments into many rules and make it more useful.
The meeting was attended by ACS (finance) DS Mishra, ACS Home NK Aswal, ACS Agriculture department Ajay Singh, ACS Panchayat and Rural Development MK Raut, Principal Secretary Health and Food Dr Alok Shukla, Principal Secretary Urban Administration RP Mandal, Principal Secretary Law department AK Samant Ray, Principal Secretary PWD and PR Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary Gramodyog Sunil Kujur, Secretary Tourism and Culture RC Sinha, Secretary Revenue KR Pisda, Secretary Commercial Tax RS Vishwakarma, Secretary Minerals Subodh Singh, Secretary School Education Subrat Sahoo, Secretary Women and Child Development Dinesh Shrivastava, Secretary WRD GS Mishra, Secretary Laour Jiten Kumar, Secretary Housing and Environment Sanjay Shukla, Special Secretary GAD Surendra K Jaiswal and Special Secretary Cooperative DD Singh and other senior officers were also present.
