IGP (Raipur Range) GP Singh on Sunday convened a meeting of office bearers of Raipur Sarafa Association and reviewed with them various means and measures of safety and security in jewelers shops operating in the city. The meeting was also attended by SP Raipur OP Pal and couple of other senior police officers.
Starting the meeting, IGP Singh urged upon all the jewelers to compulsorily install CCTV cameras in their shops to keep a tab on all the activities taking place inside the shop while it is functioning as well as when it is closed after the day’s business. He also explained them about the importance and benefits of installing various modern security alarms and other relevant electronic gadgets to protect their shops from being burgled during the night hours. Another important point discussed in this meeting was the employment of properly trained and police verified guards as watchman in the shop, both during the day hours as well as during the night hours.
The jewelers on their part requested the IGP to tighten the night patrolling in the areas prominently dominated by jewelers to which the IGP assured of taking appropriate measures.
