The delight of getting a good paddy yield during the season was short-lived as the farmers had much difficulty in selling their produce and the unprepared and short-staffed district administration failed to stop millers from exploiting farmers in the district. The release ahead mentioned that the businessmen refused to purchase paddy as a result of which the growers have to spend their day and night in open, protecting their produce.
According to reports, Kishan Tarak said that he had brought the paddy to the market days ago, but is yet to sell his produce. Saying that many like him were spending days in the market, waiting for the in-charges to change their decision. Chandulal, Khelu Baghel, Ramji Sahu and other farmers in this regard stated that the day is passed somehow but it gets difficult to stay in open during night hours as the cold breeze blow. They at the end requested administration to take an action.
