Immediate after surfacing the sterilization case, the evidence was destroyed by burning the medicines. But no action so far has been taken against those involved in the act. The inquiry team has not got the names of those involved in such as serious offence. Moreover, no serious investigation is being undertaken on this issue.
It is worth noting that after the controversial sterilization case came to light following deaths of the women put to operation in the camp, the medicines were burnt behind the Nemichand Hospital, in spite of its being sealed after the incident. Several top officials of the district were named in this regard but so far investigation has not been taken seriously in this direction as to who were involved in the act. None of the teams investigating the sterilization case have the names of those who burnt the medicines apparently in an effort to destroy the evidences. So much so, that none of the half dozen teams thought it necessary to visit the spot where the stock of the medicines had been burnt. This incident seems to be overlooked deliberately by the inquiry teams. It is being said that due to involvement of several big officials, the inquiry teams are putting it in backburner.
None of the teams, constituted for the purpose of revealing truth behind the tragedy of sterilization camp, have so far asked about the people residing nearabout the incident area, while some people have reportedly seen the whole act of burning medicines with their own eyes.
The spot where the stock of the medicines was burnt is still littered with burnt wrappers of the medicines. The inquiry teams did not even think it necessary to seize them.
