Taking a very positive initiative, the state government has taken a decision to adopt all the children who lost their mother in the sterlization botched-up surgery scam in Pendari.
Speaking in the high-level meeting held at the official residence of CM, Dr Raman Singh said that in order to secure future of these children and till they become mature, the state government would adopt all these children. After the meeting three important decisions were taken. He said that a fixed deposit (FD) of Rs 2 lakh will be made in the name of children who lost their mother in the seterlization surgery scam and which will be jointly in the name of the Collector and the child. When the child becomes mature as per age, they he or she will get that matured amount of fixed deposit and the child then can maintain his own account. For each children upto the age of 18 year and as per interest of the family, they will be provided free of cost education facility on behalf of the state government. A health card of each child will also be prepared and based upon which he or she will get free of cost treatment in Apollo Hospital upto the age of 18 . CM directed the officers to start implementation on these decisions at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand, Adivsor to CM Shivraj Singh, Principal Secretary Health deptt Dr Alok Shukla, Principal Secretary to CM Aman Kumar Singh, Secretary Subodh Singh and Joint Secretary Rajat Kumar.
It is notable that a sterlization surgery camp was organised in village Sankri (Pendra) and Pendra, Gourela and Marvahi under Bilaspur district from Nov 8 to 10. After the operation many women became serious and were admitted in Government Hospital, CIMS and Apollo Hospital. Despite all efforts on part of doctors 14 women cannot be saved and treatment of remaining 70 women is in progress.
