A conman, who duped many poor villagers in name of providing lucrative jobs has finally been caught by the police. The culprit has been identified as Saurabh Tiwari (30), son of Suresh Tiwari, a resident of Brahminpara, Rajnandgaon.
According to the information received here, in year 2013 Saurabh Tiwari took Rs 2.10 lakh from one Jageshar Sahu, son of Shivcharan Sahu, a resident of Khairagarh in name of providing a job in government sector as computer operator. Later, he also took Rs 1.55 lakh from Jaikaran Verma, son of Mani ram Verma, a resident of Rengakathera village falling under Jalbandha police station limits, in order to provide a job as peon in a government bank. Likewise, he continued his business of duping innocent villagers and pocketed Rs 4.35 lakh from Shanki Sahu, a resident of Chikli village, Rs 2.10 lakh from Anmol Hariharno and Rs 4. 10 lakh from Ratan Lal, a resident of Mamta Nagar, Rajnandgaon but did not provide any job to the villagers. After passing several months the victims understood that they have been cheated and soon after realizing same they asked for their money back. Saurabh Tiwari, in return gave cheques of Union Bank to victims but once again the villagers were duped when they came to know that the cheque bounced due to non availability of sufficient balance.
Frustrated from the fake promises of Saurabh, the victims at last lodged their complaints with police. Following the complaints, a police registered a case against Saurabh Tiwari under Section 420 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Later on the instruction of Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Shukla, a team kept an eye on Saurabh Tiwari and finally got success in arresting him after a long time. Police informed that Saurabh is doing this illegal business since 5-7 years and has duped many youth. They ahead added that Saurabh is an inspiring model and the entire money pocketed through scam was invested by him in visiting metro cities in order to search some project for himself.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shashimohan Singh has appealed people to keep themselves away from such fraudsters.
