The Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak has once again targeted the state government and its ministers and charged that been a Mayor from Congress party the Ministers of Raman government are deliberately causing hindrance in various development works under various schemes. At the same time the state government has stopped development works worth Rs 1700 crore.
The verbal discussions are on between the Mayor and the existing Urban Development Minister over the development works. The Mayor reached the Press Club challenging the Ministers of Raman government for open discussions on development. Addressing media persons at Press Club, Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak charged that it is mainly due to unsupportive attitude of the state government that development works and projects worth Rs crore are pending in the capital. She charged that the former and existing Urban Admn. Minister does not want any development works in the capital, as the credit of the development would go to RMC's MiC instead of the state government.
Mayor informed that the state government has stopped the Rs 1000 crore worth of underground sewerage project for last two years. In the same way the Ganj Mandi scheme is pending just due to quarrel between two ministers. On the other hand work worth Rs 100 cr have been withheld for pipeline expansion work. In the same way the 11 kms long Tatibandh to Telibandh flyover project and the proposal for opening of College by RMC too has been dropped.
Nayak further informed that a proposal for giving ownership rights to around 1000 traders of Golebazaar was submitted and in this RMC would have earned Rs 300 to 400 crore worth of revenue. In the same way RMC had prepared compensation for widening of road from Tatyapara to Amapara Chowk and the same was not sanctioned by the state government. During dedication of Indoor stadium there was promise for giving Rs 500 crore and Rs 1000 cr was for Nagar Suraaj Abhiyan, but till date RMC has not received these funds. On the other hand RMC would have earned Rs 50 cr to Rs 100 cr from regularization of illegal colonies in the capital, she added, but till date no action has been taken.
Minister more interested in amusement park
The Mayor alleged that it was amidst interest of Minister and to pass on the interest to their near & dear ones, the project of Amusement Park is hanging in fire. This park was to be constructed in 300 acre in Daldalsiwni area of capital and for this the Minister pressurized to give 62 acre land for 90 years lease for just Rs 10 crore. In view of this the tender got cancelled and it could not be re-issued.
CM, Minister responsible for lack of cleanliness
The Mayor held the Chief Minister and Urban development Minister responsible for worsening sanitation in capital. She charged that the DPR for cleaning, terms & conditions in the tender and agreement was signed by the government through SUDA. Despite strict protest by the existing MiC, the contract to Kivar has not been cancelled and this clearly proves that government is indirectly supporting Kivar Company and its working.
