Third Gender people have given conditional support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Municipal elections here.
A delegation of Third Gender submitted a memorandum to State BJP Organisational Secretary Rampratap Singh at the State BJP headquarters situated at Kushabhau Thakre premises here. During the meeting, they raised demand for the party ticket to Preetam Mahanand from Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) ward no. 34 Guru Govindsingh ward in response to their support to the saffron brigade during the upcoming elections. The delegation assured that they would be campaigning in all the 70 wards of city in favour of the BJP candidates. Prominent among those present on the occasion were the Third Gender members Yashmin, Nisha, Karim Bai, Shaili Rai, Shalini, Vidya Rajput, Ramabai, Sonu and Jyoti. They informed that they have already formed a society title Mitwa. Regarding the reason behind the support to BJP, the delegation stated that it is BJP government which has given them recognition as Third Gender and added that they are ready to campaign in favour of BJP candidates here.
