Four sent to jail for attempting on two youths

In a sensational turn of incident on Tuesday afternoon in Bramhapuri area, four youths creating nuisance on the main road by bursting crackers made a murderous attempt on two bikers who resisted their antics and injured them seriously. The incident was soon reported to Purani Basti police after which a raid was conducted at the said area for arresting the accused but it took a lot of effort by the police to nab them all. Later on Wednesday all the four accused were produced in the court from where they have been sent to jail. The noticeable fact of this crime is that the prime accused of this case is a habitual criminal and had already been booked for attempt to murder twice in Gole Bazar and Kotwali police station but somehow had managed to avail bail on both the occasions.

According to police, complainant Prateek Ghansani (22) of Shankar Nagar is final year student of CA. On Tuesday afternoon Prateek, along with his friend Nikhilesh Bangre, was going towards Tikrapara through Budheswar Chowk. However at about 2:30 p.m. while they both were passing through Bramhapuri area on the main road besides Budha Talab, they found that couple of youths had blocked the road from both sides and were bursting firecrackers in the middle of the road. Since Prateek and his friend were in a hurry to reach at their destination, they tried to sneak through that illegal road blockade but their attempt was instantly thwarted and those youths went to burst a cracker right at their feet.

This act was instantly resented by Prateek and Nikhilesh which led to a dispute between them and suddenly one of those youths attacked them with a knife around their abdominal area which Prateek somehow ducked but still got hit in the thighs.

That youth, later identified as Mohammed Tanzil (20) of Noorani Chowk in Raja Talab area, also stabbed Nikhilesh in his left thigh apart from stabbing Prateek again in his other thigh. Hereafter a pandemonium was created in the locality news of which soon reached Purani Basti police station from where a patrolling team rushed to the spot and restored normalcy in the area.

Soon both the injured youths were taken to Ambedkar hospital from where Nikhilesh was discharged later in the evening after necessary first-aid but Prateek was kept under observation for the night and was discharged only on Wednesday morning.

In the meantime, Purani Basti police registered an offence under Section 307, 34 IPC against Mohammed Tanzil (20), Mohammed Owais (20) of Sanjay Nagar, Abid Khan (20) of Baijnathpara and Mohammed Safique (24) of Moudhapara on the complaint filed by Prateek and arrested all four of them by Wednesday morning.

Preliminary investigation revealed that all four of them, along with several other relatives and family friends, were 'celebrating' the birth of Tanzil’s daughter earlier on Tuesday.

It is worth mentioning here that Tanzil has already been booked twice for attempt to murder and is a habitual criminal having numerous complaints and several offences registered against him in Kotwali and Gole Bazar police station. His family owns vegetable and fruit shop in Shastri Market and owing to that reason he is a regular visitor to that place where he has created an air of terror but somehow continues to be free and have even availed bail despite being twice jailed on charges of attempt to murder.
