One person was critically injured and three others too suffered multiple injuries on Sunday night when their car was dashed head on by another car at Parsatti turn near Nimora under Abhanpur police station area.
The critically injured person and his wife were rushed to Ramkrishna Care Hospital where he continues to be on life support system and his wife had undergone a surgery for her fractured arms. Both their children have been discharged on Monday after necessary treatment to their injuries. Abhanpur police in the meantime has seized the other car and is now making efforts to nab its absconding driver.
According to police, victim Uma Shankar Nagvanshi of RPF Colony in Raipur had been to Gurur in Dhamtari district on Sunday to attend the engagement ceremony of a relative. Attending that ceremony, he along with his wife Duleshwari Bai, who is a head constable in Railway Protection Force (RPF), and both their children Pooja (13) and Lokesh (11) headed back for Raipur in the Maruti Alto car CG18-C-9990. However at about 10: 30 p.m. while they were about to approach the Parsatti turn near Nimora, a speeding Maruti Swift car CG04-KM-5678 straightway rammed into their car causing critical injuries to Nagvanshi and his wife, both of whom were sitting in the front. Both their children sitting in the rear seat also suffered multiple injuries.
To their sheer luck, couple of bikers were passing from that area on the very moment and they immediately informed local police about the accident after which police rushed all the injured to Ramkrishna Care Hospital.
In the meantime, police has found that the abandoned Swift car is registered in the name of the owner of Rajim based M/s. Shivam Industries and at the time of the accident was being driven by a driver appointed in the company.
